Why should parents know what their kids are telling their teachers about themselves? They’re only their parents, they should bow down to the teacher who will spend a whopping 9 months with the student!

The parent has only raised them and will support them their entire life- why should they have a say you 1956 Neanderthal?

Who really thinks this way?

According to my son who teaches there, Ms Burleson was fired and no longer works there.

Unless that is a VERY recent development...of course. But to the best of my knowledge at thos time, that is what happened, what I wrote in the other comment.

According to my son, she is not teaching there this year. He is an 8th grade teacher. She may be elsewhere in the district. He knew of the other teacher.

No she was temporarily placed on paid administrative leave, and moved to a different place in the district afterwards. So it is true she is no longer at that particular school, as far as I know.

I heard she referred to students as "it" if they didn't pick pronouns on the survey. Just trying to find the truth.

I now know of 12 parents who have discussed the secret survey with their kids and this number is only going to increase.

What can we, your readers do (if anything) to express our outrage with this situation? Personally, my family does not reside in that district.

Yes, it is definitely pathetic of a grown teacher to enforce her gender beliefs upon the children of others without their consent! I am so happy you agree, transed child in question.

Great lesson for parents to stay involved closely with our kids’ education. Not all teachers have their best interests in mind. Having said that, I’ve had good experiences at Chas county public schools (both myself years ago and my kids at present). Lots of hyper awareness here and teachers stay on script.

this is bullcrap, i was one of her students and its obvious she meant to harm. she wanted to make kids feel comfortable in her classroom and wanted to help. and the thing about “transing her kid” she couldnt even keep up with her kids pronouns. she had no part of that and was just trying to keep up with whatever the kid was comfortable with. even she had to correct her mistakes of what she was calling her kid so she most likely had nothing to do with it at all.

Man, just because you can't be friends with a guy without bending over for him doesn't mean others do. You better get back to playing world of warcraft before your wife's boyfriend catches you trying to play big boy games.
